Our Council

The ANZAOMS Council is made up of the President, Vice President, Immediate Past President, state representatives and the Chairman of the RACDS Board of Studies. The CEO sits on council as an ex officio member. There is also a non-voting trainee representative.

The council meets 4-6 times a year either face to face or by teleconference. TheCcouncil is responsible for the conduct of the association in conjunction with the CEO.

Dr Collins joined the Board of the ANZAOMS Research and Education Foundation and Trust in 1999 as secretary.  Dr Collins is a registered Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon in New South Wales and is a half-time staff specialist at the Westmead Hospital and in private practice in Westmead and Strathfield.

Victorian State Councillor - Dr Alf Nastri

Mr  Alf Nastri graduated in dentistry and medicine from the University of Melbourne, and completed specialty OMS training in Australia with additional fellowships in the United Kingdom and Harvard University (Boston, USA). He has been in private specialist practice in Melbourne since 1999 and is Deputy Director of OMS and a consultant at the Royal Melbourne Hospital. Special interests include corrective jaw surgery, maxillofacial trauma and the management of maxillofacial tumours. Appointments include ADA Victorian Council (2006), FRACDS(OMS) Examination Co-ordinator (2004-2006), AO Asia-Pacific Faculty (2005 onwards).

     
South Australian Councillor - Dr Miles Doddridge

Dr Doddridge is a visiting Oral and Maxillo-facial Surgeon to the Royal Adelaide Hospital. He conducts a private Oral and Maxillo-facial practice in Adelaide and Darwin. He is currently ANZAOMS councillor for South Australia.

Western Australian Councillor - Dr Clive Purcell

I trained in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery in Perth Western Australia and Auckland New Zealand. I completed the FRACDS(OMS) in 1998. Currently I am the WA councilor and sit on the medico-legal sub-committee. In addition to ANZAOMS responsibilities I am also involved in MAC and credentialing at several Perth hospitals.

New Zealand Councillor - Mr Steven Evans

I am the NewZealand representive to  the council .Each country has similar interests but there are also unique  issues that need the councils imput and advice to advance the specialty in New Zealand and often  has benefits for all members

Senior visiting Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon to the SA Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery training programme. Private practice half time. ANZAOMS council member. Director of training in SA.Chair Advanced Surgical Training committee RACDS. Board member OMS of the RACDS. Member education committee IAOMS.  I have been involved in   accreditation and training formally since 1990.

ANZAOMS Secretariat
