Article by Kate Steward

It is with enormous pleasure that we announce that Chair of the ANZAOMS Research and Education Foundation and ANZAOMS Past President, Associate Professor Jocelyn Shand has been elected Vice President Elect of the IAOMS in the elections held at ICOMS in Vancouver in June.

A/Prof Shand has committed many years to ANZAOMS representation at the IAOMS, having served consecutive terms as the Oceania Councillor and six years as the Regional Representative on the IAOMS Executive Committee.

The Vice President Elect role provides a clear path to the Presidency and is a fitting recognition of A/Prof Shand’s many years providing outstanding advocacy for the specialty in the Oceania region, at this international level.

ANZAOMS wishes A/Prof Shand all the very best for her new position and looks forward to supporting her in this important role.
